193 Piccadilly
This was the first fully designed shop for this division of French Railways. The brief was to create a space that would sell the glamour of the train to British consumers, who associate rail travel with commuting. It also needed to be functional and flexible for times of low footfall. The carriage-like space takes its cues from its subject. The front waiting area has television screens and the reception desk is Ferrari-red moulded plastic. Printed panels showcase European destinations, and two large raft-shaped lights hang overhead. The fit-out itself was express, taking just four weeks.
