Coln Country Park

Masterplan for a country park...

This Cotswolds park was already a destination thanks to its picturesque lake and sailing club, but lacked visitor facilities. HWO’s plans turn it into a year-round, family-friendly holiday centre. Private lakeside and garden cottages fund the facilities, which include a visitors’ centre with restaurant, café and rooftop spa; short-stay guestrooms; an authentic Cotswolds market and footpaths. The public space is designed around a lakeside boardwalk, and footpaths, which maximise views of the lake, encourage visitors to walk and cycle around the park. The plans respect the existing contours of the land and waterways, and the park’s indigenous species.
